We had so many people to thank for their help getting us back on our feet after our fire this Spring that we invited you over this last weekend for our first Farm Open House! Although it was a busy weekend with a lot happening around the area we had a great turnout – about 100 people came up the hill behind the store to visit with us and see our new barn, orchard and meet our Kathadin and Dorper sheep – Ernie and Penny. (Kitt, our other new ewe, was away for breeding).
Our biggest thank you for helping to organize this event goes to Ginny Milgo – our store manager. Without her help none of this would’ve happened. We’d also like to thank Phil Carlson from River Road house for providing the food. Phil gave us a big discount on the awesome barbequed chicken dinners that we gave out to everyone who ventured up to meet us. Thank you also to the Kirk family (Sean, Corina, Alex, Brandon, Emma, Kayleigh & Zach) for manning the dessert and cider sampling table and guiding people to parking. We also thank Dawn Emken and Braden for helping to organize the day & DJ Bill Hardy from the Knotty Pine in Rotterdam Junction for providing the music at the last minute. And a big thank you to the Hagen’s from Hagen’s Hilltop Kennel for watching our two English Shepherds for the day while all the festivities were going on.
We live in a wonderful community of supportive people!
